I read this article on the times web page. Don't let the tittle fool you. Red meet is OK because all the studies included processed meat. Unprocessed red meat does not increase heart disease diabietes etc... Now for the bad news smoked meat does. But the disclaimer here is in the chemicals added to produce a smoky flavor.

I don't listen to them for the next thing that will kill me is the air I beathe too.
 
I see 2 things here. Red Meat is not the villian that its made out to be. My quesstion about smoked is which smoked? Their are so many that use chemicals/additives to simulate a smoky flavor and that is the issue. Not the smoked stuff that we know and love. Also of course their are those nuts that say grilling on charcoal is harmfull
 
Everythig causes cancer according to someone. I frankly am sick of hearing it and someone else trying to tell me what I should and shouldn't be doing, eating, etc.
 
Sex is dangerous too!

You could like it so much that you can't stop long enough to check on your smoker, causing the food in the smoker to spoil!

Oh well, I'll continue to risk having sex & smoking meat. I'll just try to do it at different times, or move the bed closer to the smoker!

There is huge segment of our society who seem drivin to find what's wrong with everything about our lives and crow it to the hills. Bad this! Bad that! Don't do that! Don't do this!

There's waaaay to many variables about everything we do in our lives to say anyone has good, or even completely correct information. Remember Eggs? One a week or your arteries will clog...now it's one a day. Remember coffee? No more than a cup a day, or your blood pressure will will blow your temples out. Now it's good for diabetics up to 4 cups a day. Which is it? They don't know.

Gotta live my life for me, using what common sense I've gathered over the years.

I've got to do what I can do to keep myself rocking, ya know? I love grilled meat. I love smoked meat. I love sausage, and a nip from time to time. Going to do them anyway....maybe they'll make a pill to fix it. My .02

Agreed!! Moderation is the key to everything, i believe. Whether its beer, red meat, processed food, sex, work, play and many things our society see's as "bad." Anything that is not abused or over done is safe in moderate doses.
 
Yahoo!!! I am to so tired hearing the SH#$. Even my doc. I want to tell him to just take my money and fix what I break.
