I haven’t been smoking much lately & could use the extra space the Recteq is taking up.
I don’t have any way of delivering it, so you would have to pick it up.
I thought I would post it on here first, so maybe one of the members would be interested.
It has only had about 300# of pellets run thru it.
I have the original cover unused, but it won’t fit with the smoker box.
Recteq may take it back & send you the one that fits the whole unit.
It also comes with 100# of Lumberjack pellets, 3 temp probes (one long enough to reach the smoke box), and a generic cover.
The price is $1000.

Any ideas on what if anything you'll replace it with?
I won’t replace it, I still have a couple of Weber kettles that I could use for a smoker, but as far as having a dedicated smoker, I’m pretty much done with that.
How old is that one Al? Less than 5 years isn't it?
Yes Brian, it is only 3 years old & very lightly used.
What's up with the sale Al?
Not smoking much anymore. I lost my taste & appetite & don’t enjoy cooking or eating anymore. I think it is Covid related. This has been going on for a couple of years.

Sorry to hear it Al. You have been an Icon to me and appreciate all your help! Really miss your post. I wish you and Judy the very best.

This is a steal @ $1000, you are looking at least $1600 new and this is almost new. GLWS Al, sorry to see you exit the hardcore smoking world but I understand. I have learned so much from you over the last bunch of years. I hope you stick around and poke fun at us every once in a while.

I hear you. Covid really messed up my taste buds, too. They change frequently, too.
I was going to PM you on this but others need to read the same query.
Have you been checked for a stroke? My former neighbor had a stroke around 15 years ago and lost taste and appetite, except for sweets. Unfortunately, he passed away from pancreatic cancer earlier this year.

Best wishes for you and Judy. Maybe you can make the trek out to the gathering later this year.

So sorry to hear that Al. Who knows, maybe will rekindle down the road. But nature abhors a vacuum, I’m sure you will find something rewarding to take its place.

Might have to change your name to GrillinAl or ChillinAl 😁

Al, to say this thread saddens me would be an understatement! I have and always will look to you, John, Red and Kevin as some of my very most inspirational folks here at SMF. You guys took this old redneck in and taught me without judgement… I will forever be grateful for your guidance!

As I read your thread, I had a co worker that tastebuds were destroyed by Covid. He could not eat meat… made him nauseous.

I thought the world of him as I do you. And tried to help him as he was a decent sized guy… but was really rapidly losing weight.

This may or may not help you Al… but I tried a few things to help him… some just did not help at all.

The one thing that he could do and devoured… was Biltong. It was something about the vinegar soak… that he could eat it and actually enjoyed it.

Anyway, if I can be of any help… just shout out.

Thanks again Al for all your support, help and guidance thru the years.

This old redneck appreciates it more than you’ll ever know.
