Aces, you really don't need to with the MES30. The MES40 yes, but the MES30 draws an excellent draft using just the chip tray, or with an aux. smoke generator like the MES coldsmoker or the A-MAZE-N tray or tubes. What problem are you having?

If you increase air flow, you'll just burn more chips/pellets that you normally would not need to.

Please don't say stale smoke....<chuckles>

I am considering adding a fan to my MES 30. Any recommendations?

I posted my MES40 fan mod info here:

Look at the 1st post and scroll through to see it amongst my other mods.

You will need to measure and ensure that the fan blade I used is not too large for the MES30 space you have. If so then get a smaller fan blade. Also I used regular left hand nuts but there is one specifically for this fan, I just could never find it or the part number.

Best of luck with it! :)

Be careful not to make your smoke too Heavy (Thick).
A light to medium smoke for Many hours is a good thing.
A Heavy Smoke for even a Short time can be a Bad thing.
