13 cords of red oak ready to go! I used 18 last winter but I'm heating a 3000 sq. ft. garage and the house and domestic hot water. Snow is in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow.

Are you sure you didn't mean 13 Racks? 3 racks (4x4x16") equals 1 cord. Cord is 4x4x8.
13 cords (4x4x8)  We call them face cords or full cords. Face cord = 4' highx8'longx16"wide, a full cord is 3 face cords or a pile 4' high x 24'long and 16" wide. A 4'x4'x8' pulp cord comes out a just little short of  4'x24'x16" when cut up.

We are really looking forward to winter since moving up here back in June!  It's been way to long since I've seen a real winter.  26 years in the Navy and being at sea level at every place I've been stationed really had us missing winter, let alone four real seasons.  The aspens are in full gold up here for about the last couple of weeks but are now starting to lose their leaves.  Had our first snow last week, only about an inch and was gone before noon but Pike's Peak has had snow off and on for the last month.

I've been cutting and splitting wood for the wood stove for the past few weeks.  Don't have a clue how much wood we'll need to get through to spring but I've got plenty of more wood to cut and split that should keep me busy until the snow gets to deep.

And I've already got me skis for the first time in many years and looking forward to skiing on real snow, not that man made stuff.
Yup-----We got a lot of gold & some red & orange, but they're starting to fall already with a lot of green still still around!!

After all those warm Winters you had, have fun in CO.

After I spent 3 consecutive Winters in Vietnam, Hawaii, and Texas, I came home & went PA Bear hunting. It was Minus 13 degrees!!!  I told my brother if I'd have seen a bear, I would have had to get the bear to take my rifle safety off, because my fingers were frozen!!!

Supposed to be 91 º  today and tomorrow. Thought Fall had finally made it to East Texas.  The weather man gave us a slight chance of rain for yesterday I got an inch, Good thing it was just a slight chance.  Being here in East Texas we sure don't get the cold and snow like you do. But last winter was one of the coldest on record for our part of the country. Looks like Bear is ready. At first glance I thought he was getting serious about smoking !!!
