Ok everyone I need some help, insert joke here, my annual company Christmas party is approaching and I've decided to bring pulled pork but I also want to bring a few other treats. I'm thinking about ABT's and/or Dutch's wicked beans, neither of which I have done before so I will need to do a practice run prior to the party of course.

So I'm reaching out to my SMF family for everyone's advice. Thank you for any and all advice.

P.S. I'm trying to submit this as a poll
not sure if its going to work though

I'd go with the beans... they reheat very well, but the ABT s tend to get mushy...

However, go ahead and make the ABT s so you have something to snak on while your waiting for the pork to finish... gotta feed the cook!

I'm with Hawgheavden, the beans aren't as tedious to make and they keep well for long periods of time, even after reheating. The ABT's are a great idea, but for a large crowd that might be a lot more work.

Dutch's Beans are a sure fire hit. You might also want to consider a couple fattys or a pot of Jeff's Chili Verde.

A tomic B uffalo T urds

Jalapeños or ..? stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon is the standard ... after that, what ever your imagination can handle!

ABT any acronym in green ... just run curser over it and get definition.

Paul:

You just love using the accent mark don't ya, lol.

Thanks, Squeazy. I had no idea.....pretty neat little feature.

BTW, I have had those ABT's before. After one of those, you can't taste much of anything else. I'll stick to the baked bean specialty, thank you.

I'm voting beans as well. Everybody LOVES smokey, not everybody loves HOT.

And, you make any of those PITA vegetarians happy if you don't cover it in bacon.

The beans should be renamed Dutch's AWESOME Baked Beans. They will definitely be a hit. The ABT's are also good (if you like hot) but would be very tedious to make for a large group.

Beans are a given. Especially Dutch's.

Now. If you are serving pulled pork you need a good cole slaw with it. Can't make a Memphis style pulled pork sammie without it.

Hey Scotty, can you use the what the TURDS came from for sausage casings...?

Here in Canada ... cole slaw is a nice side ... on a sammie

Had it once in Penn. to which they also added french fries to a pastrami on rye.
I was not impressed!
I think you need to grow up with these things .....

Of course on Dutch's beans, and I don't know about anyone else, but ABT'S are always in the smoker. It give s you some thing to snack on as you cook.
