Apparently Kroger is screwing it up all the way around. I can't speak to their Rx prices as I'm retired military and don't use them for that, but my local Kroger was built from the ground up about 4-5 years ago and they had a very nice bar where you could drink beer on tap or get singles out of the cooler... and whatever wine they had behind the bar. It was conveniently located by the deli and meat/fish counter... actually right next to the cheese counter. Well, about 3 weeks ago I went in and whoa boy it was gone and it is not coming back. Employees said someone high in the food chain made that call. Ok.. back to Rx prices.

I wish our Kroger had a bar!

Reminds me of shops in Cozumel with $1 beers in the back. All the guys would stand there swilling dollar beers while the ladies shopped. No offense to the Ladies, but I love dollar beers so win win!

Mine ends first of May. Pretty bummed but shall move on.
1/1/26 for me. Still working on mapping out either Costplus or GoodRx for next year. Could be a combo of each if Medicare Advantage I'll have next year isn't better.

My wife’s Medicare advantage thru Kroger is very good. United healthcare offer some meds for less through their supplier, but they really sucked so she switched back to Kroger. Optum was through United healthcare United good, Optum bad.

Pretty typical for the major grocers to open up a really nice location and then slowly pare back the perks available at it. I've seen multiple Safeway and Harris Teeter stores start with excellent variety and good service (and a Whole Foods with a bar like the one you describe), only to decline over a few years until solidly in the "basic" category. Just have to keep an eye out for new locations?
