My oldest is home from school for the holidays so decided to try another prime rib. Scored this for 3.99 a pound on base

Rubbed down with a little garlic, salt, black pepper, and Montreal

Little pecan and apple TBS

Also loving the new maverick. Will be great for the sausage cooker which is about 30 yards from the house

Thanks and Roll Tide. Planning a big cook out for the game. 4 butts, 40 pounds of chicken and 150 ABT's

Nice.   I am watching.

I have to do one on the 24th.

Pulled at 133 and wrapped til we got the baked potatoes and salads finished.
Had to cut 2 of and put in the oven. Wifey and youngest really like to ruin a good piece of meat.

Mine was perfect! This was the best one I've made so far. Left overs will be yummy.

Looks great Tim

Looks like a great meal.

Congrats!

And a great score on that rib roast at 3.99!

Good luck and good smoking.

$3.99 lb for prime rib.  You made me cry Bammafan!  LOL

I just bought a 7 lb. roast for $7.97 lb. and thought I had gotten a good deal.  Haven't had any for three years because of such high prices. -  $3.99????

Hey Bama!

Here is a trick I use for those who like "NO PINK" in their meat.

Just slice theirs a little thinner and put into hot simmering au jus for a couple of minutes, while you carve the next 3 or 4 slices off the roast..

It will take the pink out quickly, and still leave them a juicy piece of meat, that is actually, only medium, to mediun well.

Well below their standard, of cooked to oblivion, but they won't know that, because the pink is gone!  LOL

You can also sear it in a pan until pink is gone, but it will be dryer that way.  Same for oven.

Great looking rib roast.  When I saw $3.99/lb I had to double check the date to make sure I wasn't looking at a thread from the 90s!  I rarely get hamburger for $3.99/lb these days!
