Great thread, Brian!  Looks like lots of guys made great hauls this Christmas!  My Santa Claus was definitely better to me than I deserve...Here are the cooking/smoking items I was fortunate enough to receive:

Mrs. Red must believe I was a very good boy this year!

Hope everyone's Christmas was a merry one!

Merry Christmas Red.  And yes. Clearly you have been a very good boy this year. You've made quite a haul. I've got a good hunch that that you reciprocated to Mrs. Red too!  Your going to love that sharper. I do mine. It's especially dear as it was the last Christmas present Dad gave me a number of years ago.  Use the first slot sparingly! . ....works like a dream

I got a bag of KBB,Maverick 733therm,some gloves(I'll donate to the wife, want different ones)and a$100 gift card for the butcher shop! Okay I bought the therm myself and let the wife wrap it. We didn't do Christmas between ourselves due to a $4000+ in trim work we pulled the trigger on for the house[emoji]128543[/emoji]

Thanks Brian!  I've never been very good with a whet stone.  Try as I may, I tend to do more damage to a knife edge than good...so I'm excited about the electric sharpener.  Already put a nice new edge on a couple of old dull knives.  That's nice about your Dad...its good to have such a good and useful gift to remember him every time you use it.

And yes...Mrs. Red was a very good girl this year too!

Merry Christmas!

Let's see, I got seasonings, salts, a meat tenderizer, an AMNPS, a pizza dough thingie, and a Weber Basic Pizza Oven kit (I already have a stone and peel).  The meat tenderizer and AMNPS I ordered myself and she put them aside for Christmas.  I suspect we'll be eating wood fired pizza and cold smoked cheeses more this year.

Nice haul! You'll love the dough docker. I have the same meat tenderizer, be careful it's razor sharp!

That pizza thing for the kettle looks really cool!!!

I got two 32 qt tamale pots, some rubs and a really cool 100 lb rice bag apron...

I was hoping for some gift certs from Home Depot but for the first time in a long time I didn't get any...

Cool stuff, lots of great presents

Gary

Have you tried your kettle yet? We bought one and had trouble getting it up to temps and with recovery time. There are some mods you can do to help. We ended up getting the Blackstone pizza oven.

Nope, haven't tried it yet because it doesn't arrive until later this coming week.  Got a nice sheet of paper telling me what was ordered!  I've made pizzas just on the Kettle alone but 450F was about the hottest I could get the temp even using mesquite lump charcoal.  I'll figure out the Pizza Oven.  I love a challenge of making something work right.

One  of the mods I have seen done is to mount another pizza stone near the top of the kettle pizza that helps hold heat in and reflects heat back down on top the pizza.

Looks like Santa was real busy delivering smokers this year

no pic cause i left it at the camp, but my neighbor made me an apron out of an old pair of carhart overalls. i really like it and doesn't look like it's too hard to do. she split the legs and sewed the inside seam together, then cut the back section off and hemmed it.
