Pork butt

Been hankering for some pulled pork lately but as many have seen, pork prices are up. Well Harris Teeter had them on sale for .97 a lb this weekend, so rolled over there yesterday and grabbed two of them.

Last nite rubbed one of them down with SPOG, brown sugar and what I though was smoked paprika (turned out to be cayanne) set it in the fridge overnite. Got up this morn just before 7, cranked the mes up to 275, let that heat up while I made coffee.

Got the butt in about 730ish and let it run with a mix of apple and hickory. Tease of a lil tbs

Let it run up to 196 and pulled it from the smoker

Let the smoker run till pork hit 196, no wrapping and pulled it out

Pulled pict w mac and cheese will come later.

Back to the cayanne for a minute, either in my not paying attention and grabbed the wrong container or there is cayanne in the wrong container, cant say but oops. Still good
The pork and especially the Mac n Cheese looks really good. I smell spices as I will use old containers to put new rubs or blends in. Plus I can tell if some thing is past its prime. Id still be sneezing from a big whiff of Cayenne.😊...JJ
