Went over my son's house today to help him put together his new performer delux. At one point he says to me, dad, this lid is a lot lighter than yours. I pick it up and sure enough it did feel lighter. The table is now made out of metal which isn't as nice imo as the one on mine. Is weber's charcoal grill quality going down the tubes? It seems that way with this new delux purchase. After we put it together both of us felt kind of cheated. The pork chops however still tasted good. He's also looking forward to his first ever smoke on his new WSM 22.5" that I picked up for him on craigslist a few days ago. His  smoker is brand new but two years old and seems to be the same quality as mine which is 2012 purchase as is my performer. Not complaining here, just seeing if anyone else noticed a quality downturn on the performer. Guess I'm not expecting many replies to this question since not many people have had the opportunity to compare different year models.

Can't speak to the weight/thickness of the lid as I haven't played with a 2015 or newer, but I do like the new style table much more than the old thermoset one.  To the point that I ordered the metal table and replaced the old table on my Gen2 Performer.   The Deluxe also comes with the Gourmet grate system which is heavier gauge than the standard grate.   Got one of those as well
