Lancaster County, Pa.
This is just an FYI.
Here's your chance to own a little piece of Pennsylvania Amish country. I thought some of you might be interested in re-locating to Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Public sale of 9.3 acres of woodland. This isn't mine, but is close by. It's only 20 minutes from the famous "Green Dragon farmers market" that BGKYSmoker BGKYSmoker talks about sometimes on here. Looks like this property has a life time supply of wood for smoking. Lol.

Nice area. Its getting busy there. When we were there 3 years ago it was really congested traffic wise.
We lived about 4 miles from the dragon. Its not like it used to be, its more like a junk swap meet now. If you want a farmers mkt you need to go to Roots in Manheim or up to Leesport.

Yea the Dragon can get congested. Especially on Good Friday. (Its only open fridays). You need to get back into the country side to really appreciate Lancaster county. Lots of farm fresh veggies, butcher shops, and road side markets. It's a simpler way of life here.

The cost for that 9.3 acres in that area? $500K to maybe $800K.

I lived in Lancaster County close to 9 years from 1990 to 99. Was a great place to live. The City of Lancaster had great PA Dutch and Ethnic restaurants, a selection of Regular and diverse Ethnic Food Grocery Stores. A Foodie Paradise with reasonable to inexpensive pricing. The City was safe by day but parts got sketchy after dark. The nice part, drive a few miles in any direct and you could go from City to Small Towns and Villages to Rural Farmland.
Great area to raise Kids. Tons of Attractions and fun stuff to see and do. Strasburg Railroad Museum and Steam Locamotive Train Ride, was a favorite. Head east about 6 miles and there are hundreds of Big Name Outlet Stores to shop. Big Bargains and Crowds at Christmas Time!
Close to Hershey Park too...JJ

I've lived here for over 30 years and the landscape is changing. The farms are slowly disappearing and being replaced by housing developments. Still plenty of farms, but not as many as before. Lots of people want to live here because its cheaper to live here. Food, taxes, and even land is cheaper here than 45 minutes away in Philly. If i had to guess, that land will probably sell for less than chef jimmy expected. But as public sales go, it depends on how many want it and how deep their pockets are.

We pass through on our RV laps around the USA.
It's so majestic and beautiful there.
But, my Swiss wife is all done with the cold and snow, so here in So Cal we stay.
When I tap out that may all change as she becomes a crazy Horse, mule, dog and cat rescue and adoptions lady.

You may very well be right. Its been 20 years since I lived in Lancaster County, but even then Prices were increasing dramatically year to year. I dont know if Lancaster land and housing has been affected like areas farther East. My Nephew is looking to buy a house west of Allentown. They are bidding $20K over asking price and losing to people going $40K over!
I based my estimate on what other acerage is selling for in that area...JJ

That's nice territory.
It's only about 50 miles from My Bear's Den, and is similar to this part of Lehigh County. Our Son bought these 14 acres with a Big Home 20 years ago for $345,000, and we subdivided one acre from that.
All of it was wooded, and only cleared enough for our homes & one of his Tower Shops.

Our neighborhood was $100K over asking with several bidders and has recently defaulted to $100K less with no bidders. It may be starting to cool off across the country.
