Nice rig chp chp ! Haven't done too much WW rafting, once on the Snake when I was young.
Looks like you can haul plenty of gear for trippin'....

Thanks. That picture is on the headwaters of the Snake. It is a 13’ raft and is a lot of fun. This is the family SUV at Steamboat rock on the Green river.

Belted Kingfisher, good size, and colorful specimen. It took flight off the log right when I got the phone set to take a pic. This dude kept flying ahead of us being very vocal for ~ a mile which is rare, they normally fly to your stern and you don't see them again. It was a game of cat and mouse to get a pic.

Nice. I see quite a few here in these parts. I call them kookaburras for no particular reason.

Bump.....First yak adventure of the year. March 1st and a little cool wearing shorts but screw it... long sleeves under a hoodie and off we go.

So... I'll not say where this is (if you know, you know), but that sign wasn't there last year or the last 25-30 years that I've been poking around this place.

Never mind the creepy reflection of my fingers on the screen of the sonar.
Just a gorgeous day albeit a touch on the cool side. 55ish at launch time and it never made it to 60.

Ran into a few of these. Not a big fish but healthy and good looking. I would have been happy to catch just one, but it was a pretty good day all things considered.

Thanks for looking.

Nice outing and interesting sign! Too windy this time of year up here to get boats wet. :emoji_disappointed:
Never very enjoyable.

It is a nice specimen indeed.

Diggin' your Hummingbird and Ram setup, cool! Been thinking about replacing my thwarts with a track system to use Ram mounts on when I'm going fishing. Probably no Hummingbird as I normally fish shallower rivers and creeks, but a rod holder and a Go Pro would be nice .

Got the new boat wet today. It was 81* with a water temp that would put your nuts in your neck. Only got my feet wet and they thawed fairly quickly, no triple Adams Apple. Boat is much faster than any other I have and the seat is all day comfortable. Spent a little time moving the seat and foot rests fore and aft trimming the boat differently. Works well in the fact you can make it turn better with the seat to the rear giving the boat a bow high attitude. This would work good when approaching rapids. However, it doesn't track as well as it does when I have it trimmed, as in the pic - (OT made the bow taller than the stern, so it might not look trimmed, but it is). Diggin' the boat and looking forward to this season and many more in it!

You grillin' with a hard hat? :emoji_laughing:

There should be many more coming soon as the weather warms :emoji_wink:
Not yet! hah! One of my dogs won't stay out for her morning pee, though. Even with my company (ugh). We are having a neighbor over for steaks tonight, but it should be over by then. He was working out the kinks for his new powerwashing business and cleaned the front of our house, driveway and deck (big job) for free (we gave him money anyway). Hopefully it goes away in time. We ordered them from Wild Fork. Need to cook them soon. He is a paramedic, so can be gone for a few days at a time. Anyway, hope you can get some in tonight too.

Hasn't been much rain to speak of for the last week but water was a floatable height in Back Creek yesterday. Weather was high of 83* with increasing clouds throughout the day, chance of rain jumping up from 18% to 60% @ 5:00 pm. Got a few pics and a surprise in the section we see Bald Eagles pretty frequently.

So, off to church, the church of Mother Nature..... 3.5 hr float.

My brother navigating the first riffle, note the log in the foreground - bump!

String of Red Bud trees hanging over the water casting pretty reflections.

That looks like an Eagles nest! And an Eagle sitting in it!

Pretty sure that's an Eagle sitting in there.....

Sho'nuff is! Felt bad disturbing it but had to paddle under it, ya gotta go where the river flows....

That's it for this installment, hope you enjoyed the ride.
Attend your local church.

Nice pics . Eagle in a nest . Don't see that everyday .
Thanks Rich. The light/overcast wasn't playing nice with the cell phone camera, but they turned out better than I thought they would.
Yeah, we'd see them pretty often through this stretch but not like this. I was giddy like a schoolgirl seeing it in the nest when approaching and thought - I hope it doesn't fly, I don't want to upset it, and because then I've probably broken a law.
