I have a masterful propane smoker with just the top vent. I have read some people run with the vent all open and some say all closed. The instruction book said closed but I have read about creosote buildup. Will going full open up top affect flavor and humidity that much?

BTW also plan on using Amazn tube smoker in it.

I have had a Smoke Vault for 7 or 8 years & it still works great, as a matter of fact it's my go to smoker. I always leave the top & bottom vents all the way open, but I have it in a place where the wind is not a factor. If the wind is blowing hard just shut the vent that is into the wind, but leave the top vent open all the way. If it is really windy you may have to come up with some kind of wind break.

I run the vent on my Masterbuilt electric fully open and never noticed any issues with flavor, actually everything has been quite delicious.

Stick burner here but whatever smoker I was using I would open the vent, air flow and no stale smoke,
you want to keep fresh smoke flowing through you smoker

I leave the top vent open on all of my smokers. On my gas smoker The lower vents are wide open when there is no wind. Partially open when there is wind. As mentioned you want air flow to keep the smoke fresh.

I have a Master Built propane and only has top vent and I always leave it wide open.
