Is this ok to use. Just bought a box of hickory and almost all pieces have thjs

I'm careful when it comes to mold, especially dark/black mold as it can be highly neurotoxic. That said, I'm not sure what this is. I wouldn't use it personally but others here may have much more insight on this.

I wouldn't be afraid to use it from a safety standpoint. Looks like mildew to me and won't be much more than the surface. Fire will take care of that. The only issue you might see is mildew can affect the flavor. It will taste how it smells burning so light some up and see what you think. Doesn't look bad to me though
