Not sure if he measured from the edge of the loin, or just the cap....probably from the edge of the loin.

Though I'd LOVE to sample some of that hog, he lives in Michigan, while I am in Louisiana. Long way to travel to pick up some pork.

That is a big pig did he say how old. As the rest said I'd like to have a belly off that one for makin bacon.

Poukie most John Deere backhoes are yellow as is most of their construction equipment including my skid steer

He sent me a pic. of a bone in pork chop off a different pig a while back, a Tamworth. Said he trimmed a least 2 1/2" of fat off this one...

John Deere's farm equipment is the green you are accustomed to but their industrial equipment is yellow.

The Mangalista is a large old world lard pig from Hungary. Thick back fat 4-8"thick is common. Also has thick bellies. The last old world pig breed that still has woolly fur for harsh winters.

Seen some that big (wild) but never killed one. Neighbor had raised a domestic, that weighed out 565 that I killed for him and helped butcher. Both had a fat cap of 4 plus inches.
