Newbie to smoking from MS

I am from the MS Gulf Coast.  I have never used a smoker.  I bought my husband a Masterbuilt electric smoker with the digital remote.  I decided to learn how to smoke meats so I don't have to be dependent on him.  I look forward to learning from you all. Tonight I'm smoking a Boston Butt.  Earlier, I injected it and rubbed it down. I'm letting it rest until later tonight when it goes in the smoker.  Say prayers for me.  My husband will be at work and it's me and the smoker.
