I've been grilling for along time. I have been wanting to get a smoker for some time now.. I want to get a horizontal offset smoker but dont know what kind to get for a starter smoker big enough to feed at least 6 to 10 people.. any help with what smoker to get would be appreciated.. any tricks and tips for a newbie

I had to go to a group I wasn't already a member of to figure it out. LOL

Just go to that thread through the link I gave you.

Then click on "Quote" at the bottom of any of the posts, like one of mine.

Then a box will come up telling you that you have to be a member, and it asks you if you want to join.

Take it from there.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
