Still have no smell or taste from covid about a month ago. But my wife and FIL wanted ribs. Supposed to rain all day so decided to cook them on the pellet grill in the garage with the door open and a fan drawing out the smoke.
2 slabs with 2 different store bought rubs
225° using lumber jack hickory pellets
Gonna pull one slab at 165° and wrap and let the other ride. Hope everyone had a fun and save night last night. Happy new years!

Yea that'd be nice. It's weird to sit out in thengarage watching TV with the smoker going and not able to smell anything that's going on

Good looking ribs!!! Hope you get you senses back soon.
Well they came back. Now I have a head cold. And they are gone again. Maybe that new variant. But it's legit a head cold

Decided to wrap both once they hit 165°. Wrapped with some honey, butter and brown sugar. Back on till they hit around 190° the. I'll un wrap em and put em back on till around 195-200. Went ahead and took the temp up to 250°

Wife and FIL said they tasted good. Wife also said they had a better smoke flavor overall than normal. 1st time using Butcher paper. Kind of like the finish product over wrapping in foil.

Looks delicious! I'd say you nailed it...even if you couldn't taste them

Dang, those do look good. Since you used paper instead of foil, I am betting you didn't even need to firm them up at the end.

Yea exactly. I went to un wrap them and just left them wrapped. They looked good, foil like steams them. The butcher paper is completely different. Cant believe it took me this long to figure that out

Tasty looking ribs. I'm a paper wrapper myself when I wrap. However tonight I wrapped with foil because I'm smoking root beer ribs and needed to hold the soda in lol

Nice looking ribs!

Get well soon. My wife lost her smell for a couple weeks with COVID. Mine never completely went away, but I definitely took advantage of hers being away 💨

Sounds interesting. Just add rootbeer to the wrap?
