I have purchased several of the Q-mats from one of our https://www.amazenproducts.com/ sponsors (TODD) and have come to find another use for them.

The large mat when place in a MES 40" electric smoker on the bottom rack spreads the heat out pretty evenly so as not to crawl up the back side and have hot and cold spots. The smaller ones work on the 30" MES fine as well.

I might add i have the ones with the finished edge so 3/4" all the way around the edge is non perforated. I butt the mat against the back wall of the smoker and centered. The solid perimeter helps keep the heat off the sides and the small grid of the mats forces the heat to spread out over the entire surface making for more even distribution.

I can attest that this is a great work-around after doing several smokes this way. The mats are truly one of my favorites, jerky, grilling shrimp or veggies. Clean up is a snap too. Just passing this along for every ones knowledge bank.

I have both types of mats so this is good to know. Thanks!
