If anyone didn't know, when you get a credit card from Cabelas it earns you Cabelas bucks for every purchase you make with it. Not just in store but anywhere, even gas, groceries, pharmacy, house payments, utilities etc.

For this reason we push a bunch of payments through that card a year and in return we have multiple shopping sprees a year at Cabelas. ( if you do this please make sure you pay that balance off every month and never make a purchase you wouldn't normally make)

On the last trip there this jerky gun caught my eye. We had used a cheap Presto jerky pistol for years and while it was flimsy, it worked well enough for a very long time but broke about a year ago.

Grabbed it on the spot. It's all metal construction, comes with a large filler funnel and a variety of nozzles including a tip for filling sausage casings. This is the feature I look most forward to using. I typically do small batches of sausage and getting out a large stuffer for 5 lbs is a pita and not worth it but using one of these makes it a trivial chore. One that can be done on a weeknight for sure.

Not used yet but it looks and feels very heavy duty!

As a bonus the sausage tube fits the neck of our grinder.

The threads on each end of the tube were thin plastic. Took about 2 years, but they eventually cracked and came off.
I did get a lot of use out it before then, though.

I see, looks like it changed, this one has all metal. The end rings are some kind of thick resin material, completely inflexible.
