Now I see why when people eat my/our ribs they all think that they are the best they have ever had. Now This guys is a jerk for sure and I'm thinking he looks alot like Ron or Le with the boiling comment. I hope he teaches alot of folks how to make his Q and it will make ours look that much better.

Not that BBQ pitmasters was the end all be all but it was at least a half way decent show. Now I don't know if I will be able to force myself to watch the new season. So I just had to learn more about this guy and I found this: http://www.munchiestv.com/bio.html

I had to learn to cook or starve at a very young age also. Does that qualify me for the show? And for the record the ribs in the video were definitely not boiled first. I'm surprised they havn't gotten sued for that. I'm tempted to do a test with my next batch of ribs to see how done they are after 40 minutes @ 225. I usually don't even open the lid until 1 hour and even then there is literally no pullback at that point.

If the info about the new format is correct then they're just copying the BBQ show that was on Versus 2 or 3 years ago with Chris Lilly as the host.

Here I have this nice set of ribs in the fridge but thought I had to wait until Sunday before I could eat them because of my schedule.  Now that I know they're just as good done in 40 minutes (and just as smokey if I boil them in beer?!?) I'll be eating ribs before I leave today.

GAWD you people on here lied. What you mean 5+ hours..It only takes 40 MIN.  ROFLMAO!!!

MAYBE he meant  grilling ribs would only take 40 min.... He can blame it on the mustard seed..

Like others have said, I dont even open the smoker for at least an hour and im a newbie!!

Yuk!

Am I the only one who watched this?

When did he say he was smoking these ribs?

The main words used here were "BBQing" and "Grilling".

He laid the ribs on a "Grill", he didn't put them in a smoker.

They won't be as good as anyone on this forum makes, but 40 minutes is plenty of time to "GRILL" a rack of ribs.

What am I missing?

He specifically states, "so I like 200 to 225 degrees and you know your looking at because it's obviously a thin meat, your looking at 40 minutes max" just before he starts blaspheming about boiling ribs in beer.....

Yup, He's talking about one thing, but he's doing another. He is obviously just grilling them, because he's throwing them on a grill over direct charcoal heat. He's not using a smoker. Then he's saying you can also boil them in beer, and he likes 200˚ or 225˚, but that's all talk. He put a rub on a raw rack of ribs, and threw them on the grill. Falling off the bone???? No way, but 40 minutes is plenty of time to grill a rack of thin ribs. The guy is a Bozo---Seems he's trying to copy Guy Fiero with his actions, but he has a long way to go. He's simply "talking" about smoking, while he is grilling.
