New member old smoker

I just found this site awhile back when I was looking for wood here in Michigan online. This is the first chance I have gotten to look through the forums and making a few posts of my own.I am originally from Michigan but spent 28 years in Houston. I started smoking  20 or so years ago when a friend gave me some pecan wood. From there I played around with different wood types and cuts of meat. I have learned a lot and a lot more still to learn. Over the last several years I have been playing around with making different types of bbq sauce. Looking forward to learning and getting ideas from others and sharing or helping when I can!

First off Welcome Mr Texan fan guy to SMF. you'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.

Welcome to SMF MRTEXANSFAN.  I am new to the site as well but have been smoking for, well only, 5 years.  I started after a huge hail storm tore apart my apple tree.  Plenty of wood to try lots of smoking.  I can't wait to her about some of your BBQ sauces.  I have tried very little in the way of BBQ sauce but, would like to explore it more.  Any tips you can post will always help the SMF community get stronger.  Glad to have ya here.
