Hello rscardina. Welcome to SMF I Love your smokehouse. That is what I am looking at building my self. Would you be willing to share you design or knowledge of building it with us. That is the reason I joined this site was for building a new smoker/house. Then all the knowledge and people are great as well. So I can't see myself going anywhere else.

I'll be happy to share my design. Ironically I live just outside of Baton Rouge and stumbled across the designs on the LSU Ag Center website.

I tweaked the design some. I stuck with the 6'x8' size. I used plywood underneath the lap boarding. I used cedar fence material for the lap board. I used a dado cut of about I think 1/2" x 3/4" (it's been a fey years) along the edges of each board to lap the exterior boards. I will post more pics of the fire box and interior later. I may have a material list that I can add also.
