I'm new here to the forum and to smoking as well.  I'm looking to purchase/build my first smoker within the next few weeks.  I'm leaning heavily towards building a mini-wsm at the moment.  Certainly wanting to stay in the charcoal realm.

My names Matt and I live in the Northeast GA mountains with my wife of 2 years.  I'll be 26 this month and have been a CNC machinist/Tool Maker for 5 years now.

I've been reading a lot of information from the site before I actually joined and I have gathered quite a bit of information and insight from doing so.  I huge thank you to everyone in advance for the help, encouragement, and constructive criticism.  Please ignore any future ignorance and simple minded questions coming from my way in the near future haha thanks again guys!

Welcome to the forum.

I love my mini and use it 3-4 times a week. Great cooker for a small family or a single person.

Any questions, just ask.

Matt,
Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it then smoked it.

Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.

It's hard to beat a mini-WSM for a small family!

Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
Keep Smokin!!!

Thanks again fellas for the help.  I will definitely be researching and posting about stuff as I go.  Rubs, thermometers, mods etc.  I'm pumped about getting this project completed and rolling.
