Checking in from the frozen north. Just got my first smoker, Masterbuilt Portable Propane.

Seasoned it for a couple hours then did a trial run with some “country ribs”. Turned out great despite it being 14 degrees out today. Smoked for 3 hours at 225, wrapped for an hour, then finished at 300 for about 20 min.

I’m hooked.

Welcome to the forum! I spun a turkey yesterday and was complaining about 40 degree temps!

Good morning and welcome to the forum from a nice sunny chilly day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.

Welcome from your neighbor in Horseheads, NY.

It sure has been cold up here recently.

Good luck with your new smoker.
