did my first smoke today (some ribs, sorry no pics) on my ECB (only mod is drilled holes in the firepan), it wasnt as bad as i thought...altho i had to babysit the temp for the 4 1/2 hours, hope my new WSM (that arrives on tuesday) is alot easier lol

any have some general tips for smoking..and also just wondering how often do yall smoke?

Read Read Read this site is overwelming with info.I still use my ecb for smaller smokes,But i have highly moded it,I really like to us it.I would suggest getting a new thermo,maybe a maverick or something most stock gauges are way off.you can find most anything here just type it in and do a search!!!good luck

Welcome killmeh, Read Read Read....and do the E-Course I just finished chapter 4 and it explains a lot about smoking  ...  ...

I smoke every week or so. I suggest thermometers too knowing the temp is critical IMO.

First off Welcome to SMF. You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.
