Hey all, my Name is Justin im from Amherst, Ohio. I am new to smoking and bought a Smoke Hollow electric smoker today to get my feet wet. Gonna try and do some chicken wings tomorrow before I step up to the big leagues and do this pork loin on Sunday. Wish me luck and any advice will be awesome!

Welcome to SMF!

Chicken wings are a great first thing to smoke.

But unless you can run your smoker at 325 the skin will be rubbery.

You can smoke them for about 1 1/2 hours at 225, then finish them on a hot grill to crisp up the skin.

With your pork loin, the biggest mistake most people make is over cooking it.

Take it off the smoker at 140 & let it rest on the counter for 15-20 minutes.

The carryover cooking will bring it up to 145 and it will be tender & juicy, also a little pink.

Good luck!

Good morning and welcome to the forum from another hot and humid September day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web.   Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
