Good morning. I'm new to SMF. Currently have a basic little kettle smoker. Looking to upgrade to maybe a pipe smoker or vertical smoker. Lots to choose from so still doing homework. One challenge is our weather. Had in think 51 days below zero this winter. Makes cooking outdoors interesting. Anyone have any suggestions on equipment for this part in the country? Something that holds heat well

Hey, Welcome fellow cold weather dude! If I had my druthers, I would rather smoke in the cold, I have an easier time keeping the temp low.

Good morning to you and welcome, I am sure there are a lot of members up in your neck of the woods that should have plenty of recommendations on smoker types, I am in East Texas so we don't get nearly as cold as you guys.

Alot of of people who smoke in the winter like the kamados.the ceramics hold heat better than steel.:grilling_smilie::grilling_smilie:
