I need some help.  I want to buy a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer and know nothing about them.  After reading everyone’s comments on the FoodSaver V2244 I thought that this might be the one to buy.  I have run into one problem though.

I work at Target and this vacuum sealer is not sold at Target.  I have a $50 gift card to spend along with my Target discount; it makes sense to buy a vacuum sealer from Target rather than buying one elsewhere.

The FoodSavers that are sold at Target are:

FoodSaver[emoji]174[/emoji] V4400 Vacuum Sealer

The FoodSaver FM5200

FoodSaver[emoji]174[/emoji] GameSaver[emoji]174[/emoji] Big Game, GM710-000

The FoodSaver[emoji]174[/emoji] V3461

The FoodSaver[emoji]174[/emoji] V3440

The FoodSaver[emoji]174[/emoji] V3250

FoodSaver[emoji]174[/emoji] GameSaver[emoji]174[/emoji] Outdoorsman

The FoodSaver[emoji]174[/emoji] FM2000

As I have stated, I know nothing about these FoodSavers.  Any input as to what FoodSaver is the best one to buy will be gladly appreciated.

IMHO, I would recommend the FM5200 or one of the stand up units..... I have an older version with the same principals like auto seal, roll storage and cutter.

I have this one for years and well used

I have two V-3840 Foodsavers

You can have them both for $100 or one of them for $65.
You pay the shipping or pick them up here.

I have one of these .. the only thing I don't like about it is all the waste (about 1 1/2") for each seal ... since it's automatic you have to stick the bag in that far to activate the sensor ... Otherwise it's been a great machine... overheated it a few times, but that's common ...

What are you using now Al ?

What I like about it is when cramming a sausage ring into a bag I can hold it in position with 2 hands and make the seal without letting go and it springing out....lol

I bought a Vacmaster Pro 380, with a 16" sealing bar.

It will seal 15" wide bags or two 8" bags at once.

It also has a fan to keep it cool, so you don't have to stop sealing when the machine overheats.

That why I have 2 Foodsavers. I could alternate between them while they cool down.

Target web site lists the Gamesaver Biggame. That's the one I have and it's a work horse if you are doing a deer or similar. Has a higher duty cycle than the other models and in the same price range of the 5200. If only doing small amounts of packaging, one of the cheaper models will work for you.

Thanks everyone for your input.  I have decided to buy the FoodSaver 5200.  As often as I plan on using it, overheating shouldn't be a problem.  I did an online chat with FoodSavers and their recommendation was to buy the 5200.

Thanks SmokinAl for the offer,  I live too far away to pick up from you and the shipping cost will kill me.
