I know, I know...... You said $200 max but...... It's sooooo close!

I’ve seen these my only hang up no support after the warranty and no place for replacement parts

OK I been needing a new toy. Vevor makes that electric grill that I love so much. Think order it and be the guinea pig!

I think it depends on what your primary use is/will be. For example, we just returned from Sam’s with a 17lb prime brisket and two chuck roasts (11lbs) which I’ll be grinding & vac sealing this afternoon. That’s close to 40 vac pkgs of ground meat. I’ve attempted that with an external but never again. The cycle time is so long it turns Grind Day into Grind Weekend.
We use SV to reheat and I often re-vac with a wireless probe, along with sauce or other seasonings.
Quite a lot of our leftovers are “wet” pkgs like chili, soups, stews, etc. I’ll sometimes vac sauces to conserve fridge real estate. Also fantastic for marinating. An external simply won’t do that.
Our day-to-day workhorse is a Meat! (oil-less pump) chamber vac, with which I’m extremely pleased.

Having said that, there are tasks a chamber vac cannot do: anything that doesn’t fit in the chamber such as ‘long’ items like marinating BB ribs. We often get sourdough loaves from our senior center which we like to freeze. Our FoodSaver has been relegated to those jobs; for us it’s handy to have both.

If your counter real estate permits, consider a chamber vac and relegate the FS to pantry closet. Believe me, it’ll pay itself off in time.

My Foodsaver is going strong going on 20 years. I love it so much I'll hold a service for it when it dies lol.

Mine made it about 24 years. Lots of love for the Foodsaver here! It was a sad day when it finally s**t the bed.

I bought the big brother of this one a little over a year ago. The DZ-260C. Very happy with the purchase so far. I use it weekly.

Chamber vacs can do long items if you use the textured bags. You can place the opening of the bag in the chamber, over the seal bar, and let the food hang outside. I've done very long (maybe 24-30 inch) whole fillets of fish this way.

I thought the exact same thing before I bought mine. But then I asked myself, "When was the last time I've used a warranty?"

I feel like I must have used one at least once in my 53 years, but I can't recall exactly what it might have been for.

The world is an imperfect place. Stuff breaks sometimes. But so far, so good for me with the Vevor. Time will tell. Plus I consider myself kind of handy. The guts of this thing are pretty simple if something goes bad. I think the worst would be if the lid seal was damaged. Might be hard to source a replacement. The rest is just some relays and a vacuum pump. And the pump can probably be replaced for about $50 if it ever came to that.

I thought it said 15.7" sealing size but that is the length. The max sealing is 9.8 and I like using 10" bags. Not sure will work.

Edit I found some reviews that say it will do 10" bags.

How is lifting the lid on your? Mine takes two hand, one to hold the unit down and one to lift the lid. It makes some kind of noise while doing it. Not sure if its just mine or all of them? I going to still use this for dry stuff and the new one for wet. Not sure where the heck I going to put the chamber one at! My spare room is my overflow and it getting pretty full!

Smokin Okie, take a look at the left "fang" latch of the V2244 and see if it is broken off at the tip. When latched, it activates a microswitch in the base of the unit that enables operation. If it isn't broken, add a few layers of scotch tape to the inside edge of the tip portion to see if it can trip the switch. If it is broken, I created a 3-d print replacement after I broke mine. I'd be happy to send one your way if that is the problem.

I see the conflicting info on their website. Under the "Specifications" tab it says 9.8" but 2 other places say 10.2" (26cm).

I remember now that was one of the reasons I went with the next size up. The conflicting info worried me so I went with the one that listed sealing length as 12.5" just to be safe.

Plus at the time I was able to get it on sale thru Home Depot website.

Thanks , but I found the problem.

And its a bit embarrassing, but I have a six outlet wall plate plugged in the outlet in the kitchen. And it was the problem. I wasn't getting power to the Foodsaver. I discovered that when I plugged in the new one. It did not work and when I changed outlets, everything was good.

I could return the new one, but I like it, and now I have a backup.
