Fort Worth, Tx.
My older son began planning his retirement at the start of the year, plus started planning to build a new home in a new development near Mansfield, Tx.  Close to schools, retail, retail development, etc.  He planned a house of over 6,000 sq. ft. and they started on it this spring.  However, there has been tons of rain this year holding up development, and they rushed into the framing.

During a recent walk-through, he noticed that the ceiling studs were low.  They were a foot short, plus they put in the wrong windows.

So, they had to jack up the entire frame and double-stud the house up a foot!

And, the construction company had to eat it, and he is watching them like a hawk.

This isn't his first rodeo, either, he had his present house built 10 years ago too, and they had to correct many errors too, so he knows what to look for.

4,500 sq ft.

As it develops, I'll post more photos.

Pops we both know you can have a big house but we know its more important to see the outdoor kitchen/bbq area. Tell him to not cut corners there either.

I couldn't even get the siding guys to do there job right, let alone a whole build. Good thing he can keep a good/knowledgeable eye on them contractors!

Ohhhh he isn't, for sure!  He knows his heritage is in smoked meats and I am sure it will be more than ample sized! He will inherit my equipment and I already told him to make room for it!
