I've been wanting a flat top griddle for a while and not wanting to give up patio space for a dedicated cooker, I went with a Weber insert for my Performer kettle.

Assembled and ready for seasoning. I used Black Stone Griddle Seasoning with a little bee's wax because it was the same thing as Webers, but half the price.
She's getting hot.

Using Webers directions for charcoal setup it got really HOT, little over 600 in a spot. This is going to be a fun learning curve for me. I'm thinking that a full small chimney starter will be about right for breakfast in the morning. I have some nice thick cut bacon so we will see how it goes.

Nice! I’ve looked at those too! So I’ll be interested in how it works out for you!

I just picked up a cast iron griddle that that will fit my portable propane grill. Hopefully to remember to bring it south where portable is located
Two words...
Hashbrowns! Well, maybe only one word lol!

Four words according to my spell check
Hash browns & smash burgers

That looks fantastic! I have been trying to find a griddle pan for my weber for a while now, sadly only option they sell here in Finland is the porcelain enameled cast iron one. Been using my Muurikka gas pan for griddle duty, but i want the smoke from a proper charcoal grill some days!

Breakfast was really good this morning. No pics of the cook, the wife was looking over my shoulder. But the end result was good. She really liked it.
