looking good... when you said it was to cold and windy to work on it... I looked up in the right hand corner of your post to see WHERE it's to cold and windy... but nothing was/is there.... any chance of updating your profile to show us where that would be ????

Smokehouse anchor bolts are set and firebox foundation is cured.

coming along nicely.... I see the brick in the back ground... are they fire brick and will you line the inside of the fire box with them ?? or are they for the exterior of the structure ?? the reason I ask is... the cement cinder block will not hold up to the heat in the fire box.... I've not seen any drawings or plans so maybe I should just sit back and watch ....

Those red bricks will surround the firebox. I am going to build the firebox out of fireplace refractory panels. I was going to use firebrick but got a smoking deals on the panels so I will use those instead. Good enough for a fireplace so I figured it would be good enough for this purpose. I am pretty much using some redneck engineering here [emoji]128540[/emoji]
I wish the cold temps would go away so I can get the concrete work done and move onto the house.

Low and slow is always best....... A lifetime of smoke, you can spend a day or two getting it done. Remember to enjoy the build, you'll talk about it and show it to others for a long long time.

Is that a slip flange or a back up ring?

It's an insulated section of stove pipe that runs from the firebox to the smoke house.

Looking good!!! Keep working while weather allows! Just think of a big old brisket, done to perfection!! It will help you wait through the cold spells.
