Nice buy Dave
We've got the 8512 which is the same slicer with the automatic slicing mechanism. You'll find that it may take some hunting but all the parts are available.
I had to tear into ours to replace the worm gear in the slice adjust mechanism. While I had it apart I overhauled it and replaced all the wear items, rubber feet etc and cleaned out the gearboxes and put new lube in them. I stalked Ebay for some time with a saved search and found a new SS German blade for about $70 with shipping. We still have less than $400 in ours as I bought it non-running due to the slice adjust not working.
If you ever get into hard to slice stuff like hard dried beef or hard air dried sausages you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. You'll maybe find yourself making more things like bread and butter pickles, long sliced pickles for sandwiches and sauerkraut more often. That slicer of yours will talk to you in the quiet hours and fill your head with all manner of ideas on things to slice....
Good luck with it.
Lance
