I tried MSG in my sausages in my early stages of processing but I found by eliminating it I can still make some great tasting sausage without it.....

All my kids was breast fed. My youngest son the longest. He has allergy's, chronic asthma , immune deficiency and a few more. He's the worst but the all have the first two. Breast feeding may be good but dont believe all that doctor tell you. They just did a private survey and some where around 80% said they lie to patients. Just saying!

Quote:
My wife was also told not to eat fish or seafood, if she did, very very small portions. We did what the Dr. told us, they know better than us right?

I did tell the Dr. I only want the required immunizations, not what they think a kid should have, or make a buck on. I have read many bad things on that. (that's another subject)

My wife breast fed him also, he never had a bottle or a pacifier in his mouth except after delivery when they took him down to clean him up they gave him a pacifier. I told them don't do it again, he is going to breast fed, don't do it again! Breast milk is the best thing a kid can have, allergies, asthma,,, many things are less likely to happen.

I am not here to argue anything just passing on what I was told. Do your own research and use your own judgement. My mother told us she had never heard of the crazy things they say today about having a baby.

I am the proud father of a beautiful, healthy baby boy and my job is to keep him that way till he can make his own choices!

I'm sorry your son has them problems. I didn't mean for the statement about breast feeding to sound like  it was guaranteed for a healthy kid. But it is well known, a baby raised on mom's milk versus formula, they have less chances of developing things like that, the longer they breast feed the better.

I was not breast fed. I myself suffer allergies since I was a kid. When I was young I was sent to a specialist where they pricked my back with a needle in several spots and put things on it to see what reactions I had. I was allergic to everything, grass, weeds, dust, pet dander, pollen, etc. list goes on.  I used to get shots every week for it. Step on a honeybee and my foot would swell so much I couldn't get my tennis shoe on. It is not as bad now that I am older but a bee still scares me, and I worry about my son being stung since I don't know if he got that from me.

I don't need a piece of meat from the grocery store that is "enhanced" for better flavor. The best meat comes from the farm, grain fed and allowed to roam.

The Dr. told her not to eat MSG so she watched her intake. She also took prenatal vitamins and DHA. I know Doctors don't know everything, but they surely have to know more than us. They wanted to give many immunizations that are not required, I said no.  A good car mechanic that tears engines down daily knows more about which oil is better in your vehicle.

Another cause for Asthma developing in young kids is cigarette smoke. I have the bad habit of smoking cigarettes. I do not smoke in the house and I damn sure don't light one up in the car with the family trapped in there. Some people do that, and I cant imagine a young kid subjected to that. Another thought is making sure to change your HVAC filter often and  having your duct work on your heating/ac cleaned out once in awhile.

No not thinking you was. Just demonstrating that breast feeding don't stop these things. As Most the family's I have known has done it. And their kids don't seem no different then the ones who haven't. But I do understand doing all you can to prevent it. Of coarse mine are all grown adults today and have kids of their own. But we did the same things. I do believe this society worries to much though. With all the precautions you'd think things would change but it hasn't. Except more to worry about and undisciplined kids for some because they even worry that a spanking will bother them.

Here's an interesting Non-clinical Study on the subject of MSG...
