Meatball sandwich w/ wine infused asiago on a whey sourdough ciabatta bun

I have a bunch of meatball mix left over from last time I ground up a batch, so this was dinner last night.

I used the whey left over from last weekend's manchego cheese as the liquid for the sourdough ciabatta, and sliced up some of the zinfandel-infused asiago to go with it. The asiago is now almost five months old, and the wine flavor has really permeated it a way that it didn't do when I first opened it a couple of months ago.

What can I say? That looks and sounds absolutely superb!! One fine looking sandwich right there. Now you got me thinking meatball Parmesan subs....one of my all time favorites :emoji_wink:
