Well, put me on that list of folks that didn't know this fact. I just pulled the roll out of the saran Wrap box last night covering up my pulled pork. I hate when that happens.
Three different brands of foil on hand and all of them have the tabs. Three different strech wraps and none of them have the tabs. I refuse to beleive that I never noticed this before (But I did have to get up and check)
Now how many will admit to cutting themselves on the foil or plasticbox? I have, and at least one time was a pretty good job of it too!
I didn't realize they were there for quite some time. I don't remember when I actually discovered them.
My food service foil doesn't have one, but I guess it has enough weight to sustain itself.
The film does though.
The food service products are the only way to go with this hobby.
lol, I figured these tabs out on my own accidentally a few years ago but thought they were common knowledge and didn't want to show my stupidity by admitting that I had finally found them! LOL, guess it's not as common knowledge as I thought.
I still manage to pull the clingwrap out of the box about every other time even with the tabs punched though...
and i just posted a new thread on this..........GEEZ
earache...........the saran wrap rolls DO have those...........my foil was generic, and had em..........you folks that said they didn't have em.........look closer........they may not SAY anything.......but may still be there.........one of our rolls was like that................
just went and checked..the presto plastic wrap had em on both ends.
the WP aluminum foil did not have them on either end.
post away WD these threads move so fast. what the heck..the other half now know..lol.
I was going to post this tip in a new thread but did a search to see if anyone else had, and bingo, here it is! With my left hand disabled, this little trick saves me tons of frustration and I have to lock down the roll or else it pops right out and goes all over the floor; same way with plastic wrap too. Most all generic wraps have these now too, not just the name brands. Check your rolls, bet you didn't know they were even there! Great little trick esp. when one hand is disabled!
