I just bought a mav et-732 and used it a couple times last weekend works great beer can chicken and pork loin came out great(sorry no pics they didnt come out good ) spot on IT. But i have question about the probe for the grill it seems alot of people use wood block, potato, onion or something else beside the clip that comes with it, is that because they lost the clip or is because the potato gives you a better temp reading .

So potato or clip witch  is better ?

I use the clip with bbq probe and a block of wood with hole in it for the food probe if its not being
Used for the food . That way i know the temp on each end of the smoker

Probably they lost the clip or are using another brand that didn't come with one. The clip works perfectly for me. Until I lose it. Then I'll probably use a potato :)

I like the clip... I weave the wire a time or two threw the grate then put the probe in the clip.. weaving keeps it from falling out and getting false reading

I use the clip and really like it but somehow I lost it. Does anyone know where to get replacements? I checked Maverick and they are sold out.

Yea I'll just stick with a block of wood, it works fine, just thought if I could find them cheap I'd get a bunch of them.
