Let's see... As my title says I'm from Arizona, outside of Phoenix, originally from Pennsylvania. I like food and was pretty happy with my selection out here until.... it happened... I got sent to Austin on business. So I ended up at Rudy's and had a quite wonderful experience. The next two times I have been there I have seriously scheduled out my eating day for lunch and dinner getting everything I could get my hands on. I've been to Rudy's, Salt Lick, Artz Ribs, Iron Works, Stubb's, County Line, Texas Land & Cattle, and a couple other places.

So... I haven't been back in a while and the best BBQ in the valley of the sun is "Meh" at best. I finally was missing it enough that I went out and bought me one of those Chargriller Pro's I see people have been talking about. I've been trying to find places to get good charcoal and what not and have done a few smokes the last few weekends. This weekend is Beef rib & Sausage weekend! After that I've tried everything.

I'll have to try some of these mods I've read about. So far I've made some excellent food without really knowing what the heck I'm doing so it's just going to get BETTER!

Welcome mwc115 to the SMF. Always nice to see another South Westerner with similiar interest. You'll find plenty of help with mods and a whole lot more on this site. Read around, plenty if interesting ideas and advise.

Welcome mwc115. Glad to have ya. Ive been to TX land and cattle and Rudys. They were pretty good. Ive never been to Stubb's but I use his rub and sauce on everything. That Stubbs sure can make some sauce, its the best. Anyways, welcome aboard.

Thank you for the welcomes... Oh I've been reading around, I'm already hunting down furnace cement and got tubing out in my car to start moding my char-griller. Oooh, I can't wait for Sunday, I'm trying sausage & beef ribs!

Welcome aboard. Seems were getting a few more desert folk signing on. I'm sure that from now on the best Q you eat comes right off your pit. Look forward to hearing about your smoking adventures.

Welcome from Casa Grande... After the monsoons, you'll be able to smell my smoke all the way up to Phoenix..
