Spot on this time around.

Just hiked out to the bird feeder and already over a foot of really wet snow and the wind is still picking up.

Over a foot , that sucks. Im like you as soon as I get home checked the feeders, and the little birds are hitting the seeds hard.

Came home early as the roads and view were getting bad, 2" down already and not a highway plow anywhere to be seen.
Must be waiting untilit is over. Started around noon and left the job at 1:30, and like I mentioned 2" down everywhere.

They are saying 5cm per hour and midnight into the plus temp and rain then back to freezing by morning . Should be fun on the roads then.

Right now we're closing in on 3 feet when this is done.

Been out since about noon and got about 75% of the driveway done and my blower crapped itself but my buddy with the plow will help me out especially after the town goes by and leaves a mountain at the bottom along with that last 25%.

I've had my little Toro 1800 corded electric for 20+ years and it always came through for me,best $200 I've spent on just about anything but I guess nothing lasts forever.

Got it on the bench and am going to let it dry out and then check the electrical connections. With how deep and wet that snow was I could picture snow getting into the innards and melting.

Just got a fresh 7 inches on Wednesday. As good for a snowman though.View attachment 731703
we only got a 2 maybe 3in but hard to tell the way it blew around the farm. heard there were pockets that got 5+ and not sure what Fargo got but they got more than me. I'm not complaining but at some point we will need to get some kind of moisture for the crops and pastures around me. A little rain here and there in late April-May would be a nice start

at least 19" and wind still blowing and snowing. Going to fire up the blower, if too wet I am calling in a plow. Even then I still have to do the walk and long path to the hot tub in the back.
Cliff are you guys near Islip? I read they were getting pounded.

This is 3+ feet of snow!

about the same distance out on the island. Islip is on the south shore and St. James, were we are is on the north shore. about 12 miles south of us, we both probably got about the same amount.

the most snow we've ever had.
That's just crazy . Watch that snowload . Check around your gutters if you can . If they're full , try to knock some of it off . That freeze thaw at the edge like that can force ice behind the gutters and up under the starter row of shingles . Can cause some damaged and get some water dripping inside when it starts to melt .

Good luck .

We've got blue skies up here on the northern border of Vt. Norm if you have any direct venting keep a close eye on it.

Literally just got done cleaning up.

Beautiful sunny day and the driveway is bare asphalt and vehicles clean. The grill and smoker are now snow free.Paths to the shed and bird feeders and done. Now just waiting for the roads to be cleared but that's going to take time,my neighbor did do a portion of the road last night so the inevitable giant pile at the end of the driveway should be less.

Tomorrow is getting as much off the roof as possible and busting up the forming ice damn.

Here's a shot from the top of the driveway:

Well we got hit but I thought it would be worse
They say we got here in Middle Sackville 16 inchs. I think closer to 12" BUT the wind and drifts made it much higher in lots of areas, especially my yard.

But thats winter. I for 1 Have had enough.

Took 4 hours this morning to clean it up.
