Main Reason I Like ~ SMF

I have been smoking food for over 30 years . Somethings I have never ever tried and somethings I am really good at . But since I have been in here you all have given me the push to smoke pork for example and a FATTIE . Now that is cool but the real reason I like SMF is that most of you think like I do . I am always thinking of what I am cooking tonight and the coming weekend . My co workers get sick of talking about cooking , smoking , frying , drying and lastly eating . I love all of it . Excuse me if I post to much but I try and keep an open mind about normal life issues but my main goal is to learn the most I can about cooking anything and everything . Thanks for helping me achieve this .

Amen brother! When I first got into smoking and this site, a couple of my friends thought I had gone absolutely MAD because all I talked about was cooking ribs.

Now they drop off slabs and let me keep one if I cook for them

I still have a ECB that I used to use 20+ years ago to ruin some perfectly good meat, Then I bought a New Braunfels offset, much to my wife's disappointment and slowly got better but still didn't know what I was doing really. Then I found this place. Found the recipes and techniques, started to get friends to buy smokers and helped them because of the food they had off of mine. Then last year my wife told me to buy a Lang, I think that pretty much says it all.

Now this place is really nice and so are the peoples here too. I like all of the recipes that are just so off the walls here to. Now I like to make alot of differant stuff and this is a great home for some really good food here too.

Hey brother, you speak very close to my same sentiments from a year or so back. I did my share of spares, a few yard birds, a turkey or 2...that was about it. Then I found SMF...and discovered that there is no limit to what you can enjoy smoking and eating.

Couldn't agree more. I tell everyone I know who even MIGHT be interested in smoking about SMF. I'm learning so much, each and every day. And there are so many good people here. There is a real sense of community that develops. I am grateful to have found SMF!

I know the people I work with must get tired of me jabbering about smf and all you fine people...But they sure dont mind me bringing in samples,and smoking them their own cheese!

Mrs Sob on the other hand thought I was obssessed with smf and smokin stuff(I cant even say smokin meat anymore since the smoked cookies,and cabbage,and pumpkin bread,and so on!) But now I think she gets as much of a kick out of checking the daily posts on here as I do!

See now she is lookin over my shoulder since I'm talkin about her!

For me...all of the above! Love this site. Already learned new tricks, new recipes, starting a smoker build from a fridge - I'd still be doing ribs and sucking at Brisket without this place. Thanks all - current, past and new!

I was just thinking about a turkey smoke so looked in the past posts, found a great on by BBQ engineer and bookmaked it. I will be turkey shopping tomorrow. I love how we share and learn and there is very little ego if any here, Thank you

Did a pullpork on valentines day and had my whole family here, my daughter in law that for the most part does not eat meat get up for 3rds and say this is the best meat ever. I loved that. Now my 2 sons are smoking and we are going to have a family throw down. As a Dad I love that. and yse we are a competitive family lol
