I want to remind everyone to keep this thread clean. We dont want politics on the board and I think this is not meant to be. If it turns that was it will be deleted.

Not trying to get political here Brian, and that goes for all the readers as well. I'll edit the original post to make it more clear.

I was just wanting to bring some attention to some simple steps we can take to get ourselves going again. My grandfather was an upholsterer and a carpenter, my dad was a carpenter, my brother taught me how to frame houses which I did during the summers from the age of 16 untill I enlisted.

It kills me to see our labor go overseas when we can do the job here if we make a demand for it.

I would also like to see more American products used by all of us. Myself included.

Agreed Mark. Its hard when 95% of products aren't made here and then the huge price gap on the things that are. Ive been trying to keep it in the USA for a while now but sometimes I need to remind myself that convenience and price are not the ONLY factors :) Good post Pit 4 Brains

OMG I just learned that Milwaukee tools are now being made in china. This deeply saddens me as they were made here in the USA, and were top quality. I hope quality does not suffer due to this.

Carhart clothing has even moved some of its products to Mexico. They still produce quality clothing however. But it still cost USA jobs.

I try and buy made in the USA

products when ever passable, but it appears this is getting harder and harder to do.

Dont forget to also look at the food we buy. I know when shrimp goes on sale its usually from another country and not the USA. Iver seen Briskets say product of Mexico as well. Food for thought.

I just found out that my Lodge enamel coated dutch oven is actually made in China!! I was dooped! I took it for granted that all Lodge products were American made.

Speaking for myself, I definitely prefer to buy American, but

a) they can be hard to find, hard to identify

b) price is usually higher, sometimes a lot higher

c) lets admit it, sometimes quality is lower.

OK. So... exactly which smoking products are USA made?

How about a links to them.

I'll even go so far as to ask for SMF member reviews by those who own them.

I'll suggest one thread per product, maybe title it "USA Made: xxxxxx".

MODS:  If I've gone too far here please just delete or edit, or pm me and I'll edit.
