Hi All,

Earlier this week I reached out to the Admin's on this site and requested that a group be built for NEW JERSEY SMOKERS!

I thought there had to be enough people on here that would make it worth at least considering.

Well the Admins in their infinite wisdom  decided I had a good idea.  Thus, the NEW JERSEY group has been born.

If you are from New Jersey, please consider joining this group.

It's always fun to discuss local issues with people.  The overall community is also great.  It's just nice to talk local when looking for stores and other types of suppliers.

I hope to get some hello's

Ciao,

Rob

Hi Again Jimmy,

I just replied to you in a different thread.

I mentioned in some thread that I will be selling beef jerky at a BBQ competition in Cresskill, NJ the weekend of September 25th - 27th.

Here is the  LINK

http://www.rwqbbq.com/

If you are able to attend, please stop by my tent and introduce yourself.  It would be great to meet you and I would be very excited to get your opinion of my beef jerky.  My tent is called JERKY ROB and I should be right next to the Beer tent.  lol  No joke.  I asked for that spot specifically because when I sell at a farmers market, everyone always says how much they wish they had a beer to drink while they ate my jerky.  I'm hoping this helps sales.  lol.

I hope to see you there

Jimmy,

I was at Restaurant depot last weekend and they had Dino ribs for $3.00 per pound.  I was in heaven.   lol

BTW, if you want amazing beef, I have a butcher in my town that  was a Micheline start butcher in Manhattan before he moved to New jersey 20 years ago.  If you are looking for amazing meat it's worth the drive to Westwood.  "Prime Meats of Westwood, NJ

I have to find a way in to Rest' Depot. I have heard of folks joining KCBS and using the One Pass, once, while other guys say their RD lets you come as much as you want after joining KCBS...

That Westwood Prime Meats looks real nice and high end, like it would be a special occasion stop for well aged Rib Eye for a birthday or holiday. Are the prices really good? I just got 2 Pork Butts at Wegman's for $1.49 and never paid more than $2.99 for Pork Belly...JJ

RD has some great prices.  they also offer quantity discount. over 5 lbs and most items are $0.50 less a lb.

I remember seeing picnic roasts for about $1 a lb once but you need to buy a package of 4 or 6.  don''t remember,

As for Westwood Prime Meats, you are correct.  it should be a special occasion because Sal's prices are very high.

The only reason I have a membership for RD is because I became good friend with a restaurant in town and they gave me an extra key card they had laying around.

Right place at the right time i guess.

I am in for the new Jersey thread.
Awesome.  Please pass the word.

Also take a look at the thread.  I keep mentioning a BBQ and music competition / festival in Cresskill on the weekend of September 25 - 27
