Hey all, name is Kyle. Im from St. Louis, MO. I currently have a Smoke vault gas smoker. Berfore this ive always just had a smoker box on my grill to add flavor to whatever i grilled. Thus far ive managed a couple batches of ok jerky and a couple pork shoulders for pulled pork. I love all things smoked and have felt the allure of this art for sometime. Hope to learn a lot from the pros here and really wow my friends and family.

Welcome to the forum.  There is a lot of great information here.

I started out doing my "smoking" on the grill also.  The hardest thing I had to learn about using a real smoker from this site was to switch my mind over over from grilling by time to smoking my meat until it reached the optimum Internal Temperature.

Once I got past that mental hang up, it was easy to be consistent.  Yes you can take a wild guess on time, but that is all it will be.  It will be done when it is done.

Now you can concentrate on trying different rubs, foil or not, what kind of wood do you like, etc  Lots of opinions here.

Good luck to you.

Glad to have you with us!

Looking forward to seeing that Smoke Vault in action!

Awesome. Thanks fellas. Pretty excited. For some reason i did pretty good for first smoke, but for some reason i can no longer get my chips and/or chunks to continue to smoke like they should. Using a. Smoke vault 18" propane. So frustrating
