Hi all, been lurking for some time. Reading advice on my new Smoke Vault 24. Been smoking and grilling for 40+ years. Pretty much a hack but turning out something nice from time to time.

Computer professional services occupation, working from home frequently and love having propane grill and smoker so I can pop out from time to time to cook a thing or two.

Located in USA mid-south.

Most common smoker residents are whole chickens, turkeys, pork butts, pork spare ribs, chicken wings, jalapenos & other peppers/chiles, brisket, an occasional pastrami.

Welcome to the board! You should fit right in here. The board becomes more fun when more people share more questions and experiences.

Welcome, welcome!! Been smoking and grilling for over 40 years? You have some things you can teach and share with us!!! I too am a computer professional (programmer) for a bit longer. Looking to retire next spring.

Regardless, please do share some of your tips, tricks, and recipes and of course accompany those with lots of pictures.

Welcome to SMF. Glad to have you with us.

Welcome to SMF!
I've had a SV 24 for about 7 years & it's still going strong. I have several other smokers & grills, but honestly I use the SV24 more than all the others. It's just too easy to use & yes you have to add a wood chunk every 45 minutes to an hour, but it holds temps well & puts out some fantastic Q! And cleanup is a breeze! It leaks smoke & heat, but the burner is big enough that it really doesn't matter.
Also if you ever need any parts for it they are readily available from Camp Chef, and the prices are very reasonable.
