Hey Guys and Gals, I'm having a little trouble with the American language and thought I'd start a list so as I can post it up every now and again and get some clarification on some of the words and abbreviations.

We'll start off with "Spritz" is this some sort of a spray?

What is a "UDS" smoker?

So far I've been able to fathom some of this out but some just baffles me.

Cheers from Down Under.

Pilch, what's you native tongue?

"Spritz" is "spray" in German and Yiddish. There are several Yiddish words (or versions of them) in American slang.

Welcome Pilch. The language of this forum can be confusing, as folks tent to make up their own abbreviations from time to time. What's that old saying--2 countries divided by a common language? Aussie English is a bit different from American English to be sure. But for the most part it should be pretty self explanatory. The links provided should help too.

Strangely enough it's Australian English but like American English we tend to have our own little words for certain things. We were settled mainly by the Irish and Poms where as you were settled by a vast majority of Europeans.

Cheers from D.U.
