Thaks Gary! I say it every year, but this year I'm going to smoke turkey periodically, not just for Thanksgiving.

Funny! I should mention I wasn't trying to discredit Case's hair dryer skin drying method. As I mentioned, I did consider it. I even went in to the bathroom to get the wife's hair dryer. That's when I started thinking about the fact that her hair dryer has been living in the cabinet under the bathroom sink for the better part of 20 years. Suddenly it just didn't seem like the best idea to take that into the kitchen and blow it all over the turkey.
I do think as a concept it's a great idea. It would dry and shrink the skin and if hot enough maybe even start to render some of the subcutaneous fat.
