LUFKIN TEXAS
Greetings from East Texas!

Here in Lufkin, great BBQ is not hard to find! Lots of folks and restaurants that do a great job! However, I take a lot of pride in doing it better myself! I've been a member of Jeff's site for several years now and have made great progress in my efforts to prepare the best ribs in town! However, I still cannot do a brisket that can be sliced! They all fall apart. Great taste, but not the beautiful presentation I'd like. I've used a Brinkman charcoal and electric models and just last week purchased a Landmann USA propane unit! Looking forward to doing some brisket, ribs, and chicken this next weekend. Any suggestions on the brisket will be greatly appreciated!

I use Jeff's rub and sauce, with a little modification to the sauce receipe. A month ago I won a contest for the best sauce! Mine was best out of 17 entries! My ribs were also voted #1!

Looking forward to learning more through these forums and advice from other more experienced cooks!

Have fun and keep on "smokin".

Rick

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "SMF User Guidlines" .....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per TulsaJeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!
