Kustom Kamado Joe Classic II Table

Given the cost of prebuilt tables and boring styling, I decided to build one on my own. I took some cues from the BGE forums, and add some touches. I wanted something with working top and plenty of storage. Given I live on the Gulf Coast we get a ton of rain, so cover was required and shade for summer hence the umbrella. Hope you enjoy the pics, and keep smokin

It’s the cutout for the sink when we had granite counter tops put in a few years back. I asked them to save me a cutting board size knowing some time in the future it would get this use.

Check the big green egg forums and search tables. They have tons of ideas and more than a few shared plans. I just adapted and added where I hade different thoughts. It’s just wood, and you can always buy more ... LOL

I just started looking at this for him because I’m planning on buying a Kamado Joe after doing some research.

Are there any companies out there that make carts for these Kamado grills?

One of my concerns was stability. Because I have learned if they fall over the ceramic can easily break.

There are usually several local builds listed on our craigslist, and you could probably modify it from there. Or see if the seller would work with your designs?

Key to stability is making the wood all tie into itself and redundancy bracing. Like you I didn’t want to see 200lbs of ceramic hit the ground so I “overbuilt” the main framework.
