Johnsonville Brats (Bear Treats)
Every now & then This Bear gets a Craving for some Smoked Sausage, and these are the only type I can get around here any more that doesn’t have a Leather-Like Skin on them.
So we generally keep a couple packs in our Freezer just in case one of those Cravings comes upon me!
This an easy job, even for me, so out to the Weber “Q” I go.
It only takes me 3 trips out to the Grill & back to complete this mission:
Trip #1—Uncover & light Gas Grill.
Trip #2—Brush Grill clean, cook Brats, and turn off grill & gas.
Trip #3—Cover Grill after it cools.
So after bringing them in, I de-grease them somewhat, because these things are usually overloaded with Grease.
So I lay them in a row on two layers of Paper Towels, then 2 more on top of the Brats. Then I just lay my hand over the top towels & roll the Brats back & forth on the bottom towels, while applying a moderate amount of pressure.
This tends to squeeze out much of the extra grease & oils from the Brats, through the cracks in their skins.
These Johnsonville Brats aren’t near as bad (Greasy) as the Brand we used to get.
Those used to squirt at you while grilling, and often had some pretty good flare-ups going on the grill.
So the first night I had two of these, with just some of Mrs Bear’s Sauce, and some Dill Pickle Slices on the side.
Then the Second night I had only one Brat, with some more Sauce & some Dill Pickle Relish.
MMMM-Boy, I love these things!!!
